Against the backdrop of a gorgeous Gulf Coast sunset at Casa Ybel Resort, LisaMarie and Mike were married. We have to say, Casa Ybel is one of our favorite wedding venues in Sanibel Island, Florida. Not only is the staff amazing, but the venue is perfect for beach weddings. It was such a gorgeous choice for LisaMarie and Mike’s Sanibel Island wedding. Casa Ybel Beach Resort Wedding Photography
LisaMarie and Mike met at the University of Florida and now live in the greater Washington D.C. area. They returned to Florida for their wedding, and it was such an amazing event filled with family, friends and love.
One detail that really stayed with us is how the bride and groom honored Mike’s brother. His brother, Ryan Owens, was a Navy SEAL killed during a special operations mission in Yemen. All through the day, they found ways to pay tribute to him and to include him in their wedding day memories. Mike brought his picture of him to the wedding and we took pictures of the groomsmen and groom holding Ryan’s picture.
A Gorgeous Gulf Coast Sunset
One of the reasons Mike and LisaMarie chose to get married at Casa Ybel is they were super keen on getting pictures of the sunset. On Sanibel Island, the sunsets over the gulf can be truly magnificent. But on the day of LisaMarie and Mike’s wedding, the sunset was unreal. There was a large thunderhead coming across the bay and when we went to do our pictures the sun was in just the right place to bounce off the clouds and light them like fire. It was one of the most amazing sunsets we’ve ever witnessed.
Of course, Casa Ybel Resort is an absolutely amazing wedding venue. With its sweeping views of the aquamarine shores of the Gulf and its elegant tent, there is no lack of luxury for a Florida beach wedding. Mike and LisaMarie’s ceremony was on the beach and the reception was held in a lavishly decorated tent on the grass. It was truly an unforgettable event.
