Last December, we had a blast photographing Mathew and Maha’s beautiful, Pakistani wedding at the Doubletree Hotel in Miami, FL. The decorations and attire at this wedding were gorgeous and we were grateful to the bride and groom for hiring us as their Miami wedding photographers!

Mat & Maha’s Pakistani Wedding at the DoubleTree Biscayne Bay
South Asian weddings, whether Indian or Pakistani are some of our favorite weddings to photograph. The color everywhere is so amazing. At its core, the inspiration behind this wedding day was to make it about everyone that attended and not just Mathew and Maha. They wanted the day to feel intimate and classy. And taking care of their wedding guests was a top priority from start to finish!
Mathew and Maha picked December as the wedding month because they wanted the weather to be nice and cool, not the hot and humid Miami like they get all year. Also, it was close enough to the holidays so that people would be able to take off work and everyone’s kids were out of school. They chose the DoubleTree because they wanted an intimate setting that also represented Miami and being on the water was important to them. It was wonderful to photograph them with the DoubleTree decked out for the holidays.
Indian and Pakistani Weddings in Miami
This was such an amazing wedding to be a part of. Mat and Maha are two wonderful people that share so many great values with one another. And they were so excited to get married! Maha’s smile lit up the whole room. She was just so happy, all day. And Mathew was so handsome and posh in his tux.
Maha’s most anticipated moment was their first dance. She told us that, for some reason, the dance made her the most nervous. But the shaky nerves were all for not, because she and Mathew were in step perfectly out there on the dance floor!
There was so much laughter during this wedding, especially during the speeches at the wedding reception. Everyone did such an exceptional job when it came to delivering speeches that were funny yet emotional but also detailed enough for the guests to understand and appreciate the jokes and stories. Everyone made everything so relatable and easy to follow and it seemed like the guests enjoyed the speeches almost as much as the bride and groom.
Maha even gave her cousin a time-slot to perform a small stand-up comedy act, which helped to keep the guests entertained. Then they quickly opened up the dance floor so that everyone could really enjoy themselves.
The happy couple spent the rest of the evening interacting with their guests and personally thanking each person. Showing their gratitude for all the efforts their guests made was important for them.
They didn’t incorporate any religious traditions, as Maha is Muslim and Mathew is Christian, but they made sure to incorporate a cultural aspect with Maha’s gorgeous, jeweled wedding dress and jewelry. She had her wedding dress custom made in Pakistan. And the jewelry on her forehead — her Tikka — was her mom’s. The rest of her jewelry came from India and she was stunning!
All in all, we loved everything about being the wedding photographers for this Pakistani wedding in Miami. We had a wonderful time and we wish Mat and Maha the best of luck in their new lives together!
