So, you’re getting married in South Florida. That’s great! We can’t wait to see you and to be part of your happiness! Click here to see if we are available for your wedding. But one of the big questions we always get is whether you should hire a wedding planner to help with the big day, and we wanted to answer that with a resounding YES. YES and more YES.
Planning a South Florida Wedding
A planner makes sure your day runs as smoothly as possible and keeps the day on track. Sure, you could do that yourself, but do you really want to be directing traffic and stressing out over the details of the day when you could be basking in the newlywed glow? Of course not! Let someone else worry about telling everyone where to go and when to get there. You don’t want to be the boss on your wedding day; you want to enjoy it. They might even think of something that you didn’t even consider, saving you time and stress on your big day!
And honestly, I wish I’d had this advice for my own wedding. I thought that my bridesmaids and I could do it all ourselves. We were at the venue a few hours before my ceremony, running around, trying to make everything perfect… I would rather have been relaxed with my friends instead of in a rush. It’s the one thing about my wedding I wish I could have changed.
But you don’t have to take just my word for it. We also asked a few of our favorite South Florida wedding planners why they think it’s so important to hire a professional wedding planner.
Advice from South Florida Wedding Planners
Jessyca Perez Canal, owner of Events by Jess, said:
“Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, so by hiring a wedding planner, a bride can enjoy the process of planning a little more. The experience that a wedding planner brings to the table is what is important. For many couples, this is their first time planning an event of this size, and so having someone who is with you every step of the way is crucial. Plus, having someone the day-of that knows everything about your day and has your back is important! You really want to be able to be in the moment on your wedding day, and a planner brings that and more to your wedding!” To see what Jess did for her very own wedding, check out this blog post.

Stacey Feldman of Peacock Premier Events said:
“An experienced wedding planner knows the ins and outs of different venues, including their capacity, food and beverage minimums, price points, site fees, and rules. They also know the same with vendors and can properly advise you and be the voice of reason when it comes to your budget. They are there to advise you on vendors that will be the perfect fit for your style, personality, and budget. My job as a planner is to not only create a fun and memorable planning experience but also to be there to make sure each event, including the wedding, goes off without a hitch and managing the timeline with everything to make sure you’re not incurring any overage fees. “
Allison Skeegan-Fournier used Stacey Feldman of Peacock Premier Events for her wedding at the Marco Island Marriott. She said, “She helped with everything from the sound system outside for the ceremony (that I didn’t even think about) to the renting of the chairs, lighting and everything else in between.”
