Jeffery’s Surprise Proposal at the Boca Raton Airport
No matter how many engagements or weddings, or proposals we document, photographing a surprise proposal is always going to be exciting for us! Even though there is a sense of nervousness about whether everything will be perfect and go as planned, there’s something unique about every proposal. From the exclusive locations to adding personal touches to the plan, couples are getting increasingly creative and sometimes even extravagant with proposals these days. And we are so glad that we get to photograph such amazing proposals and turn this special event into a day you can relive for years! So if you are planning a proposal and want it to be documented through stunning photos, you can count on us.

Your proposal is just as important to us, and we make sure that the whole event feels even more special for you. A Surprise Proposal at the Boca Raton Airport
We recently got the opportunity to photograph a really special proposal for Jeffery, a pilot by profession. Jeffery called us and told us about his idea of somehow wanting to incorporate his profession into the surprise proposal, and not in a boring way, but something that would blow his girlfriend’s mind! So when he arranged for the proposal to take place at the Boca Raton Airport, we were completely impressed and even more excited than before. It’s one thing to plan and photograph proposals at the gorgeous beaches here, and a completely different experience to photograph a proposal on the tarmac!
Jeffery came up with a solid plan to get his girlfriend to the airport without her getting suspicious about anything. He pretended as if it was a corporate session and invited his girlfriend to attend the session with him. They then went inside the plane to take some pictures, and when she walked out, he was on his knee waiting for her. Ready with a ring and his question.
We wondered why one goes down on their knee when proposing and then got to know that there is a whole history behind it. Earlier, knights would get down on one knee in front of their lord to show respect, obedience, and loyalty. It was also common during religious ceremonies, and in those days, marriage and religion were intertwined. So, basically, in present-day proposals, going down on one knee more or less means the same thing it used to back then. In essence, going down on one knee while proposing signifies that someone is pledging their allegiance to their significant other and declaring their undying love for them. And this is exactly what Jeffery did for his girlfriend as he waited to surprise her at the tarmac. He had also arranged to have her family surprise her after the proposal.
This was such a beautifully unique proposal to capture. Even though this was a grand idea for a surprise proposal, everything seemed so intimate, and these two could not have seemed happier. We love how Jeffery made it happen and had everything planned already. It couldn’t have been an easy task getting everyone on that spot.
